Welcome to New Jersey’s first “Sixes” league, modeled after the new World Lacrosse standard for International Gameplay.
“Sixes” Lacrosse provides a much faster version of the game, and simulates field lacrosse much more accurately than box lacrosse. Here are the gameplay rules, which ensure that all players are touching the ball DOZENS of times in every game:
6v6, 5 field players + goalie
Players compete at both ends of the field
30 second shot clock
Goalie initiates play after goals are scored
Shorter field (70x36)
Emphasis on tempo with very few stoppages in play
Roster size limited to 10-12 players with substitutions on the fly
Details on the New Jersey Fastlax Winter Sixes for the Dec’23-Feb’24 League is as Follows:
Location: Mount Olive High School “Marauderdome”, 18 Corey Rd, Flanders NJ
Dates: Sunday afternoons
12/10, 12/17, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11. (No games on 12/24 Christmas Eve nor 12/31 New Year’s Eve
The last two dates will be playoff and championship games.
Format:
Four 10-minute quarters, running time.
Fastlax will allow up to 2 long sticks on the field at any time per team.
All games will be filmed with game film accessible to all participants.
Divisions:
High School, 7/8th, 5/6th, 3/4th
Player Registration Fee: $285 per player
